SAP will make SAP Cloud Platform (SCP) available on Amazon Web Services (AWS) through AWS Asia Pacific (Sydney) Region, starting in August 2018.

SAP customers in Australia and New Zealand will be able to accelerate digital transformation projects by rapidly deploying intelligent applications and services on SCP, the foundation for SAP Leonardo and SAP’s digital transformation strategy, the company said.

The goal is to provide local customers with access to new solutions, including the new SAP HANA service, which provides cloud instances of SAP HANA on-demand with consumption-based pricing and elastic scale as well as SAP Leonardo to help fast-track digital transformation for businesses.

SAP says Leonardo combines next-generation technologies such as artificial intelligence, analytics, IoT, and machine learning as well as industry expertise to help companies rapidly transform their business into an Intelligent Enterprise.

According to the company local customers will also be able to take advantage of new solutions, including: SAP Conversational AI, which enables companies to develop intelligent chatbots that are also available as preconfigured industry-specific bots, as well as the SAP Cloud Platform Blockchain service, which helps enterprises to easily build and extend business solutions with blockchain technologies.

AWS and SAP have worked together since 2011. They say businesses of all sizes and across virtually every industry and geography running SAP landscapes, including multiple production environments, on AWS to simplify infrastructure management, improve time-to-market, lower costs, and deliver innovation with AWS services integration.

“Our customers are making strategic decisions for deploying SAP applications on their choice of cloud infrastructure vendors, and many are adopting AWS. We are focused on helping them to deploy, innovate and transform in the same environment to achieve rapid innovation and transformation,” said a SAP spokesperson.

“SAP is committed to giving our customers multi-cloud choice and flexibility so that they can achieve their innovation goals. The availability of SAP Cloud Platform in the AWS Sydney datacentre extends our unique offer of multi-cloud flexibility and openness.”

Australian and New Zealand customers will now be able to create business value through cloud-based innovations, and application development scenarios and drive higher productivity and lower application development costs through integrated tooling and consistent development and deployment experiences using Cloud Foundry-based SAP Cloud Platform on AWS infrastructure.
